Project managers must learn the best practices for keeping project information safe so it is reliable and available when needed. Keeping Project Data Safe is a strategic and business management course that has been written to align with the PMBOK Guide - 6th Edition and focuses on projecting the information contained in the Project Management Information System.
Keeping Project Data Safe is a course that will describe the importance of protecting the three critical facets of project data – Availability, Reliability and Confidentially. Cybercriminals can bring a project to a halt by blocking the availability of project data, undermining project data reliability or accessing confidential project information. Cybercriminals may be seeking confidential business information, stakeholder information or seeking financial gain through the use of ransomware attacks that encrypt project information so it is unusable unless the ransom is paid. This course will identify the vulnerabilities for project information and define safeguards that must be implemented by all stakeholders to protect project information from all threat actors. This course will identify the project processes defined in the PMI PMBOK Guide - 6th Edition that may rely on PMIS data such as scheduling, cost estimating, resource management, resource calendars, project documents, stakeholder communication management, risk responses, and knowledge data repositories. This course includes exercises that will allow students to apply the information covered in this course to real-world scenarios. Finally, all students must pass a standardized exam with a score of 70 percent to receive a certificate of completion for this course.
