Cash forecasting is valuable for identifying organizational financial needs, identifying areas of financial strength or deficiency for the organization, formulating a realistic timetable to achieve goals, and to compare cash expectations to actual results. Once you know your expected cash position, your business can plan business expenditures, such as planning projects, asset acquisitions, debt repayment, operating expenses, such as advertising, and/or hiring new workers.
